LEXINGTON, S.C. — Drivers traveling along Sunset Boulevard/US-378 in Lexington will need to adjust to a new traffic pattern as a major roadway project gets underway.

According to the Lexington Police Department, a lane shift is now in place in the 4700 block of Sunset Boulevard as the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) begins work to replace the bridge over Twelvemile Creek.

Police are urging drivers to stay alert and remain in their lanes when moving through the area. Solid lane lines have been added to remind motorists not to change lanes in the shifted section.

Morning commuters should also use extra caution, as glare from the sun can make lane markings harder to see.
