SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Dozens gathered at Plaster Stadium on the Missouri State University campus on Thursday to honor those who died on 9/11 by climbing the stairs.

Climbing the stairs isn’t a random choice when it comes to remembering the day. Twenty-four years ago, first responders raced up the stairs of the towers of the World Trade Center to help as many people as they could.

The Warrior’s Journey hosted the event in partnership with MSU military and veteran organizations. Along with first responders, workers, and passengers, they want to honor those who were affected by the war that followed the terrorist attack.
