The Mobile Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) threw its support behind Spiro Cheriogotis in his bid to become Mobile’s next mayor, describing him in a Thursday statement as the man to help the city “grow and thrive.”
Cheriogotis, who previously ran as a Republican and served as a Mobile County district judge, will face Barbara Drummond, a longtime state lawmaker who has been elected as a Democrat for years, in a runoff election on Tuesday, Sept. 23. The position of mayor is nonpartisan.
