Jurors began deliberations Wednesday afternoon in the civil trial over a 2017 fatal roadside shooting of Jonathan Victor to determine whether Baldwin County Deputy Matthew Hunady used excessive force during a fatal standoff along Interstate 10.

The jury — five women and three men — received the case around 3 p.m. just after closing arguments and instructions from U.S. Magistrate Judge William Cassady.
