GRAND FORKS — Members of conservative groups on the University of North Dakota campus say the death of conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA Charlie Kirk is hard to comprehend, but has brought more attention to their movement.
The Young Americans for Freedom group on campus had a table set up in the Memorial Union on Thursday in recognition of Sept. 11. Maxwell Eriksrud, vice president for the YAF chapter, said more people came up to the table than usual, wanting to become involved.
“I’d imagine that you’re likely going to see Turning Point’s chapter grow (and) you’re going to see the YAF chapter grow,” he said. “You’re going to see conservative ideals on campus become more prevalent, because people are kind of sick and tired of what’s going on.”
