BAXTER — More than 100 students from Brainerd and surrounding areas tested their knowledge on books they read over the summer at the 2025 Battle of the Books grand battle on Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Forestview Middle School.
The program, sponsored by the Friends of the Brainerd Public Library, allows middle school students to read books, talk about them with peers and meet the authors. At the end of the program, they compete in a trivia contest based on the books and have the chance to win prizes for activities they completed over the summer.
Omar Mohamed, co-author of “When Stars Are Scattered,” attended the event virtually to speak with the students.
