SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Historically black colleges and universities across the country are on high alert after multiple schools received threats Thursday (Sept. 11).

Lockdown lifted at Southern University; classes, campus activities canceled through weekend

HBCUs across the nation are on guard after Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Virginia State University, Alabama State University, Hampton State University, Bethune-Cookman University and Southern University in Baton Rouge all received threats.

Southern, like many of the other universities, was on lockdown following the threats and paused all operations on campus. The university also canceled classes through the weekend.
