KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating a crash Thursday morning involving a Kearney Police officer and a Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office cruiser.

In a release from the Kearney Police Department, around 7 a.m. KPD officers were dispatched to a serious medical emergency call in the northeast part of Kearney.

While responding to the medical emergency, a KPD patrol vehicle was involved in an accident with a Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) marked patrol vehicle at the intersection of North Railroad Street and K Avenue. Both vehicles were going east on North Railroad Street.

Following impact, the KPD vehicle struck a curb and rolled before coming to rest on its driver side. The KPD officer was trapped inside and required extrication with the assistance of Kea
