KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Development changes have been approved for Kansas City's Country Club Plaza, Mayor Quinton Lucas announced Thursday.

He said the city council approved the passage of increased height limits at the Seville West site (4720 Jefferson Street) to 275 feet. Also, the office-use of first floor space at the Plaza will now be allowed without special use permits, the mayor said.  

Lucas said these changes represent the most significant development policy shift for the shopping district in recent years, "clearing the way for new ownership to implement their revitalization plan."

"Today, we are making a commitment to developing a site that has long been the subject of broken dreams and promises," the mayor said in a news release.
