PHOENIX — A Valley dog who suffered a traumatic injury after being impaled on a fence earlier this summer has now recovered and is searching for a new home, officials announced.
To celebrate the recovery of Kit, a 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier, and to help him find a new home quickly, the Arizona Humane Society has waived his adoption fee.
How did dog get impaled on fence?
Kit was injured in July when he tried to jump over a fence, but failed to make it completely over, according to the humane society.
He got caught on a metal spike on a gate and was impaled through the groin.
In order to get the dog off the fence, an emergency animal medical technician had to cut off the piece of the fence that was inside Kit.
