SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) -- South Dakota college students say they're shocked and brokenhearted by Wednesday's deadly shooting of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk on a campus in Utah.
Augustana University students say the shooting has made them more safety-conscious going forward.
Augustana University has detailed crime prevention and preparedness protocols posted on the school's website. They include recommendations about what to do during an active threat on campus. Students are to have an escape plan in mind, lock or barricade doors if they're inside a building and call or text 911. Fight back only as a last resort, if the danger is imminent.
