LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule said his team has had an ‘excellent week’ following the Huskers’ 68-0 romp over Akron. Rhule is challenging his team to continue to improve with Big Ten play beginning next Saturday.
“No matter what the score is, I’m expecting us to play better than we did last week,” Rhule said. “If we don’t play better than we did last week, then we wasted a week.”
Nebraska posted the program’s first shutout since 2009 against the Zips. Additionally, Rhule’s squad rolled up more than 700 yards of offense while entertaining the 404th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium.
The Huskers now welcome Houston Christian, an FCS opponent, for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff on Saturday.
“I think the week has been an excellent week,” Rhule said. “No distractions.”
