JIM THORPE, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed on Thursday afternoon in Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. near Penn's Peak concert hall, a mountaintop entertainment venue in Jim Thorpe.

The Carbon County Coroner confirmed the fatalities, though the identities of the victims have not yet been released.

PPL Electric Utilities told WNEP that a third-party contractor was using a helicopter to work on utility lines in the area.

Officials have not provided details on what caused the crash.
