FORT POLK, La. (KALB) - On Thursday, the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk held a remembrance for 9/11 at the fire station on the installation.

It’s a day of remembrance for those who lost their lives, as nearly 3,000 people died on September 11, 2001. Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners and conducted a series of orchestrated attacks against the United States.

The images of that morning are seared into the memories of many people across the nation, including those at Ft. Polk.
