TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – One of the few hospitals serving rural northern New Mexico communities is now facing a potential money problem that the hospital said could lead to its eventual closure if they don't make a change. The Taos Holy Cross Medical Center has been at the heart of the community for more than three decades. The CEO said they should be expanding to reach more of the rural population, but looming federal cuts have changed the calculus on how they can run it.
