NUTTER FORT, W.Va. (WBOY) — Fifth-grade students from Nutter Fort Elementary School replaced an old American flag at the Nutter Fort Library this afternoon, learning a valuable lesson in patriotism and public service.

The students, known as the "Game Changers," were guided by Paul Barlow, a Navy veteran and the school's custodian, who taught them how to properly take down, fold and display the flag. The new flag was donated with the assistance of Harrison County Communities in Schools.

"It's vital to make sure the next generation understands flag etiquette," said Paul Barlow, emphasizing the importance of teaching students to take initiative in their community.

Barlow highlighted that anyone can perform small acts of service, such as changing a flag or helping with community maintenance
