GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - Deputies in Gallia County are investigating after a woman’s body was found near the Lawrence County line.

Marc Jesse Moore, owner of the Eagle Rock Carry Out, said, “It’s heartbreaking, it really is. I mean, a loss of any family, we got a lot of family here and a lot of deep roots here.”

Marc Jesse Moore said he was working at the Eagle Rock Carry Out when he heard sheriff’s deputies fly by the store. He said having a dead body found in a Crown City was shocking.

“We don’t have that much violence or anything down here anyway, and I’m sure our elders and the community was like what’s going on,” Moore said. “You know, because you don’t see that kind of police presence in this small town we have here.”
