ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) - The Ohio River is the source of water for Ashland and residents say it has been tasting and smelling different.
Eric Potter, an Ashland resident, said when he “was getting my water and I noticed a real earthy smell and I kind of just cast it off and then later on drinking the water, it had that same earthy taste.”
The city of Ashland said the issues with the taste and smell of the water come from significant growth of algae in the river -- all caused by the lack of rain we’ve seen.
