Three Democratic Oregon senators received bomb threats on Thursday morning, according to an email Oregon State Police sent to state lawmakers Thursday afternoon.

The emailed threats were false, and the senators are OK, state police officials said. Explosive technicians found no bombs at the senators’ homes, the email from State Police Lieutenant Casi Hegney said. Oregon State Police are working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement to figure out who sent the threats.

Senate Republican Leader Daniel Bonham of The Dalles and Democratic Sen. James Manning of Eugene both confirmed the threats were sent to Manning, Senate President Rob Wagner of Lake Oswego and Senate Majority Leader Kayse Jama of Portland. Manning and Jama are two of Oregon’s few Black lawmak
