MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- One person was detained after fleeing a scene in Whitehaven, crashing their vehicle into a ditch in Southaven, and fleeing on foot, according to Memphis Police.

Just before 4 p.m., Memphis police said they were in the 4500 block of Applegate Street investigating a scene in Whitehaven.

According to police, a male suspect fled the scene into the area of Corporate Road and Stateline Road in Southaven.

MPD said the suspect crashed the vehicle into a ditch and fled the scene on foot in the 2100 block of Stateline Road in Southaven, Miss.
