GERMANTOWN, Tenn. -- At least four hundred people gathered at the Germantown Municipal Park Pavilion Thursday night to grieve and honor the life of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on a Utah college campus this week.
During a candlelight vigil, a Turning Point USA employee was fighting back tears as she talked about her former boss and the founder of the conservative youth organization.
Anne-Elizabeth Matheny said an assassin tried to silence the movement, but only made it stronger.
"He cared about our students and making this world a better place," said Matheny. "It's prophetic that he named the organization Turning Point USA. His death will be the turning point in our country."
