The California Department of Justice will investigate a police shooting that killed a man in North Hills on Wednesday, Sept. 10, despite initial reports that the man was armed.
State Attorney General Rob Bonta will review the shooting because of Assembly Bill 1506, which requires the state DOJ to investigate any police shootings that kill an unarmed civilian, despite previous reports that the man was armed with a gun.
