FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO) — Nine historic and vacant buildings in Downtown Freeport were unlocked for business and property owners.
“Some of them have been vacant for just a couple months, some have been vacant for the better part of a year,” shared Greater Freeport Partnership, Andrea Schultz Winter.
The Greater Freeport Partnership launched Downtown Unlocked, a way to showcase spaces in the buildings to attract developers and business owners for a first-hand look.
“There is just an opportunity to bring more vitality in business into a downtown. We know we have some great business owners and businesses here already, but let’s add more and really create a shopping district feel,” explained Winter.
