PONCHA SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said half a pound of meth and more than 450 fentanyl pills were recovered in Poncha Springs on Wednesday.
Deputies said they conducted a traffic stop just before 10:40 p.m. During that stop, they said the man in the vehicle seemed to be drunk and had a white crystallized substance consistent with meth on his shirt.
The driver, identified as 43-year-old Nicholas Hepworth of Alamosa was taken into custody for driving under the influence, deputies said.
According to the sheriff’s office, a search of his vehicle uncovered brass knuckles, 221 grams of meth and 475 fentanyl pills.
Hepworth was taken to the Chaffee County Detention Center on the following charges:
