LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Customs and Border Protection (CBP), along with the Laredo Police Department, have provided more details about a closure in north Laredo that took place on Thursday, September 11.
According to CBP, a Border Patrol agent assigned to the Laredo Sector was performing his duties when he heard ammunition discharging inside his government-issued vehicle while returning from firearms qualifications at around 10:50 a.m.
Reports indicate that the agent parked his vehicle at a gas station located in the 13500 block of FM 1472. The Laredo Police responded to the gas station at 11:34 a.m. after federal supervisors requested assistance from the LPD and the bomb squad.
Officers set up a perimeter and temporarily closed the area for public safety while the bomb squad removed a ba
