JAMESTOWN, N.D. — Crews battled a fire Thursday night, Sept. 11, at the University of Jamestown dining center.
The university asked students to stay clear of the area while firefighters worked to contain the blaze. Officials said they are still working to learn what may have caused the fire.
There was a fire in the same building in January that forced students to eat meals in the Harold Newman Arena. The kitchen and dining center had been scheduled for remodeling, with completion tentatively set for next fall.
The front of the Badal Nafus Center was hardly damaged in the first fire and had been set to reopen Sept. 26.
University officials said they are working to determine the extent of damage from Thursday’s fire.
