GRAND FORKS — The University of North Dakota is celebrating a milestone this fall, breaking its all-time enrollment record with nearly 16,000 students on campus.
UND leaders say the enrollment surge is no accident. After a quiet summer, the campus is bustling, with packed sidewalks and a buzz of excitement ahead of next week’s Homecoming.
Rob Carolin, UND director of university outreach, said, "There's just a vibe and a feeling on campus now that I don't think I've ever seen before."
UND is reporting 15,768 students enrolled, a 5% increase from 2024. The growth stands out compared to other regional colleges, where enrollment is either growing more slowly or holding steady.
President Andrew Armacost credits the surge to strong programs, affordability, scholarships and modernized campus
