ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - One of the two co-defendants accused of being involved in an 8-year-old girl’s death in Atlanta five years ago, has entered a guilty plea.

On Wednesday, Jerrion McKinney was convicted of eight counts of violating the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, as well as two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and other firearm-related charges, court records show.

McKinney was sentenced to 40 years, with 20 to be served behind bars and the rest on probation.
