PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Friends have identified the man who was found dead by a park ranger on a popular Phoenix hiking trail earlier this week.
Loved ones said 63-year-old Harald Schindler was visiting the Valley from Mexico City. His friend, Robert Krumm, said he loved photography and capturing magical moments of nature, and likely why he was out on Camelback Mountain.
Right now, how he died is still under investigation.
Authorities haven’t said if they believed heat was a factor or whether he suffered an injury. But loved ones were grateful to have an answer after Schindler was missing for several days.
