A state senator is looking into impeaching a member of the Nebraska Board of Regents.
Elizabeth O'Connor is charged with driving under the influence and will go to trial.
State Sen. Kathleen Kauth, who represents Omaha, says O'Connor needs to resign or face impeachment.

Kauth says the legislature is the only body that has the ability to impeach O'Connor.
"Anyone who is an attorney, 35 years old, getting behind the wheel of a car when you've had anything to drink is not acceptable," Kauth said.
O'Connor is accused of driving drunk in a crash back in May near 63rd and Blondo. Prosecutors say the crash caused life-threatening injuries to the passenger of another car.
"I had hoped that Regent O'Connor would choose to resign," Kauth said.
