MIDDLEBURG, Fla. — A male was shot during an altercation at an apartment complex in Orange Park Thursday night, and hospitalized afterward, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

A large portion of Cypress Point Apartment Complex located at 25 Knight Boxx Rd. was closed off for hours, starting Thursday night and into early Friday morning, while deputies processed the scene.

At approximately 10 p.m., CCSO said it received several 911 calls reporting shots fired at the apartment complex.

When deputies arrived on scene, CCSO said several of the male's friends were about to take him to the hospital, but didn't as members of Clay County Fire Rescue began giving aid to the male.
