Danny Lennon admits it is frustrating waiting a fortnight to get Airdrie’s defeat at Arbroath out of the system, but hopes to use it to their advantage ahead of Friday night’s clash at Partick. ‌

The new Diamonds boss lost 1-0 at Gayfield on his dugout debut on August 30 and with their home clash against St Johnstone scheduled for last week postponed due to international call-ups, it has left the club stewing over the defeat. ‌

With the break, it has allowed Lennon to get to know his squad better and hopes it will pay off at Firhill. ‌

He said: “Having to wait just under two weeks for a game after a defeat isn’t ideal. But what it has done is give us the opportunity for two or three players to get back in amongst us and get training time under their belt.
