A Sanctuary Point man with a prior conviction for supplying prohibited drugs has been sentenced for driving under the influence of an illicit substance.

Rodin Francis Kennedy, 26, of Mustang Drive, Sanctuary Point, appeared before Nowra Local Court on Wednesday, September 10, when he pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle under the influence of an illicit drug (second offence).

Police documents presented to the court said Kennedy was stopped by police for roadside testing on St George's Road, St Georges Basin, at 11.23am on May 3, 2025.

His roadside breath test was negative, but an oral fluid sample returned a positive result.

The papers said a secondary test confirmed the presence of cannabis and methamphetamine in his system.
