Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk dismissed U.S. President Donald Trump 's suggestion that the recent Russian drone incursion "could have been a mistake".

"We would also wish that the drone attack on Poland was a mistake," Tusk said in a post on X on Friday, September 12. "But it wasn't. And we know it."

Poland, a NATO ally, shot down some of the drones that violated its airspace and accused Russia of a serious provocation.

Russia has said there is no evidence its drones were involved in the violation .

Warsaw invoked NATO's Article 4 in response to the incident, formally starting consultations with allies on how to respond.
