FOXBOROUGH - Josh McDaniels is one part offensive guru, one part quarterback whisperer.

His primary job as the Patriots offensive coordinator is to get the best out of Drake Maye, and in turn, the most out of the offense.

On Thursday, McDaniels brushed aside any thoughts of Maye perhaps having some difficulty with his offense - one that’s proven difficult for some to grasp over the years.

He bristled at the notion that perhaps there was too much on the second-year quarterback’s plate, even if that’s something Mike Vrabel thought was fair to evaluate.

McDaniels reminded everyone that Maye was young, and it’s still early in the process.
