INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever will take on the Atlanta Dream in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs.
Indiana clinched the sixth seed after the Golden State Valkyries lost to the Minnesota Lynx Thursday night. Golden State owned the tiebreaker with the Fever; if the teams finished with the same record, the Valkyries would’ve been seeded higher.
However, Golden State (23-21) finished a game behind the Indiana (24-20).
Playoff seeding came down to the last night of the WNBA season. Las Vegas beat Los Angeles to claim the No. 2 seed, kicking Atlanta to No. 3.
The Fever's best-of-three series against the Dream tips off Sunday at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta. The game is set to start at 3 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on ABC.
Indiana will host Game 2 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
