A man has been charged after reports to police of a fight involving men on a street.

Police were called to Abbey Hey Lane in Gorton at around 7.45pm on September 2. It's understood the scene was close to Lees Street.

Greater Manchester Police said at the time there were no reports of any injuries.

The force said in a statement today that Kemar Simpson, 22, of no fixed abode, has been charged with a single count of violent disorder.

A spokesperson for GMP said he has been remanded into police custody and was due to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court today (Friday 12 September).

In the statement, police said the charge was in relation to the reports of the fight.
