PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- Steelers third year cornerback Joey Porter Jr. missed practice again Thursday and his status for Sunday's home opener remains in doubt.

Porter missed the end of Pittsburgh's comeback win against the Jets with a hamstring injury.

On Tuesday, Mike Tomlin recognized Porter could miss time but wouldn't rule him out, saying he'd let his preparation make that decision. Porter has yet to practice this week and could put Pittsburgh down two starters against the Seahawks with safety DeShon Elliot already ruled out.

Pittsburgh added Jabrill Peppers this week and elevated James Pierre from the practice squad in hopes to fill the gaps.

The Steelers host the Seahawks Sunday, kickoff is at 1:00 p.m.
