LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - It’s been less than a month since more than 50 Lake City residents were displaced from their homes due to an apartment fire that broke out at Cedar Park Apartments.

Around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, emergency crews responded to reports of a heavy fire .

All of the residents were safely evacuated from the building and officials with the Red Cross say they helped 56 residents who were displaced from their apartments, including 37 children.

TV20 spoke with one member of the American Red Cross that was one of the first on the scene.
