BARBERTON, Ohio (WOIO) - A man wanted for domestic violence, crashed his car into a pole after leading police on a chase Thursday evening.

Barberton Officer Marty Eberhart said they were called out to a domestic fight at home on Florida Place at 6:04 p.m.

When they arrived, the man, later identified as Vincent Torres, jumped into the woman’s car and drove away.

Officers located the car and said they tried to top it, but Torres refused and fled.

A short time later, Torres crashed into the pole in the front yard of a home in the 1100 block of Wooster Rd. W.

Torres, 32, of Akron, was transported to Akron General Medical Center.

Officer Eberhart said multiple charges are pending.
