HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 1952, we had the first sighting of the Flatwoods Monster in Braxton County.

A group of young boys saw a flash across the sky and some sort of crash.

When they went to investigate it, they say they saw a 10 foot tall creature with a head shaped like a shovel and wearing a dark metal dress.

Its eyes glowed an eerie orange.

They reported it to police but they found nothing, creating a legend to this day.
