ASHLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said it is extending the inspection of the Ashland 12th Street bridge to Sunday, Sept. 14.

The extension is to complete inspections of the downtown Ohio River crossing from Ohio to Kentucky, according to KYTC.

KYTC said the 13th bridge to Ohio remains open and will remain open throughout its inspection.

According to the KYTC, the following traffic changes for both bridges now include:

Through Sept. 14: The 12th Street bridge to Kentucky is closed at U.S. 52 in Ohio. Detour via the Ironton-Russell bridge or other routes.

Sept. 15 to Sept. 19: The 13th Street bridge to Ohio remains open. Watch for single-lane closures only and merging traffic. The 12th Street bridge will be open.
