KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An 18-year-old North Knoxville man is in the Knox County Jail accused of killing his 3-month-old son.

Adrien Dokes, 18, is charged with first degree murder in perpetuating of aggravated child abuse.

According to a warrant for Dokes arrest, police were called to an apartment on Forestal Drive just before 8 p.m. for a call about an unresponsive baby. When officers arrived they saw the baby had injuries around the jaw, the warrant said. Police said they determined the baby was in Dokes care when he was injured.

Dokes was taken to the public safety complex where the warrant said he admitted to squeezing the baby's neck and chin in frustration, resulting in the baby struggling to breath. He also admitted to pushing down hard on the baby's abdomen, documents said.
