Commanders defensive end Deatrich Wise appeared to suffer a significant injury on Thursday Night Football.

Attempting to block an extra point, the former Patriots captain got rolled up badly then stayed down. Wise needed a cart to get off the grass and was in tears as he was wheeled off the playing surface at Lambeau Field.

The Commanders announced it as a left quad injury and quickly ruled Wise out for the game. Washington coach Dan Quinn didn’t have an immediate update after the 27-18 loss.

Now 31 years old, Wise was a Patriots fourth-round pick in 2017. He spent the first eight seasons of his career in Foxborough, winning Super Bowl LIII, and was voted a team captain three times.

As Mike Vrabel overhauled the roster this offseason, Wise signed in Washington as a free agent. Thursd
