Offensive graffiti including swastikas have been daubed on a pub, takeaway, bridges and other locations in a Staffordshire town with police appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The graffiti has appeared in the Glascote area of Tamworth and among the places targeted are the St George pub in Caledonian and Caledonian Fish Bar in Caledonian Mews.

More graffiti has been put up in Malborough Way, on the A5 Island and bridges, the Maitland underpass and Silver Link Road.

The graffiti, which included swastika symbols and offensive words, has been put up over several months.

The police consider it to be criminal damage and are working with Tamworth Borough Council to get it removed.

But officers are also hunting those responsible and are asking for the public’s help.
