The FBI has taken a suspect into custody in connection to the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk following a multi-day manhunt.

Law enforcement identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was arrested in southern Utah, The Associated Press reported.

Law enforcement said the suspect confessed to his father, who then told authorities, a source told NewsNation, The Hill’s sister network.

Facial recognition technology was used to identify the suspect and items visible in surveillance footage were found on him during a search, NewsNation also reported.

The announcement confirms earlier remarks from President Trump, who said a suspect was in custody during an appearance on "Fox & Friends."
