1. St. Louis could be next city to pause data center developments
St. Charles residents successfully fended off a data center development in their area ( for now ), and St. Louis may soon follow suit.
The commission voted on Wednesday evening to recommend the Board of Aldermen place a moratorium on the construction of new data centers to give staff more time to study the issue and suggest regulations.
The duration and extent of the moratorium sought by the commission is unclear.
The city of St. Louis already has a dozen data centers, mostly in downtown's central business district.
