Wanda Sykes says her wife, Alex Sykes, and their two children have learned to get used to being mentioned in her stand-up sets — whether they like it or not.

The comedian and actor appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce” podcast and spoke about how she comes up with material for her jokes and comedy specials. Host Kylie Kelce said some of her favorite quips from Wanda Sykes are her jokes about raising 16-year-old twins Olivia and Lucas with Alex Sykes, whom the comic has been married to since 2008.

“Do you run your jokes by your kids before you perform them? Kelce asked Wanda Sykes.

She replied, “I do not.” While Kelce supported her answer, the comic revealed that her family doesn’t share the same enthusiasm.
