The 2025 edition of the Jazz Sudbury Festival continues this weekend, drawing crowds to Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury for three days of performances, youth showcases, and community celebration.

From Sept. 11 to 13, the festival will bring together seasoned jazz artists and emerging talent, reaffirming its place as one of Northern Ontario’s premier cultural events.

Toronto pianist Anthony D’Alessandro led a powerhouse quartet featuring Jacob Chung (tenor sax), Ernesto Cervini (drums), and Jonathan Meyer (bass). Their modern jazz set was a highlight of the weekend, blending technical mastery with soulful improvisation. They played Thursday night.
