Taylor Swift is set to be deposed in the ongoing legal dispute between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
The global music star has agreed to be questioned by Baldoni's legal team about Lively and the 2024 film It Ends With Us, in which Baldoni stars alongside Lively and which he both directed and produced.
Court documents filed by Baldoni's representatives on Thursday revealed that Swift is set to be deposed during the week beginning 20 October. The dates were set in line with the Cruel Summer singer's "preexisting professional obligations", with the filings noting she is "unable" to appear before 20 October.
The development comes as Swift prepares to release her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on 3 October.
Baldoni first subpoenaed Swift in May, seeking communications between her and Lively. His legal team argued that the material could contain evidence relating to the sexual harassment and breach of contract allegations Lively filed against Baldoni in December 2024, as well as claims that she attempted to use Swift's influence to gain creative control over It Ends With Us.
Baldoni has denied the allegations against him and subsequently countersued Lively for defamation and extortion.
Swift's representatives denied that she had played any role in the film's creative decisions, accusing Baldoni's legal team of generating "tabloid clickbait". They objected to the subpoena as an "unwarranted fishing expedition", after which Baldoni's team withdrew it.
Swift and Lively, who were once close friends, are rumoured to have grown apart amid the legal proceedings, though neither has confirmed this.
Baldoni and Lively are scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
